Applications are now being accepted for two $2,000 scholarships given by the Freehold Area Branch of the American Association of University Women. The Lew Williams and the Leila Sulkes scholarships are awarded to women, at least 25 years of age, who are returning to college. Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, have completed 60 credits or enrolled in a graduate degree program, completed at least one semester and have maintained at least a B average. They must be enrolled in the 2010-11 school year. Only residents of Colts Neck, Englishtown, Farmingdale, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Howell, Manalapan, Marlboro and Morganville are eligible. Completed application, official transcript(s) and letters of recommendation must be postmarked by July 15. The winners will be introduced at the September 2010 meeting of the Freehold Branch of the AAUW.
