The Art of Hair Salon at the Village at Town Center, Old Bridge, has announced the arrival of Marlboro resident Fee Jue. An original hairstylist with Bumble and Bumble, New York City, for 14 years, she also worked alongside hairstylist Jason from the reality TV show “Blow Out” at the Peter Coppola Salon on Madison Avenue in New York. Raised in Manhattan, Jue trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in New York City, where she worked for several years. She started with Bumble and Bumble when it opened in 1986 and in 2000 was asked to become an educator as well as a senior stylist. She most recently worked at the Peter Coppola Salon and on Oct. 7 joined The Art of Hair Salon, which opened in October 2002 and is owned by Peter and Grace Beckett. Jue’s hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Monmouth-Ocean Chapter of New Jerey Association of Women Business Owners will hold a dinner meeting Oct. 28, 6 p.m., at Old Time Tavern, Route 37 at Route 166, Toms River. The topic of the program will be “Building a Referral-based Business.” A pre-meeting on “The Language of Rapport” will be held at 5 p.m. The fee is $35 for members, $40 for nonmembers, and reservations are required by Oct. 22. Dr. Martin B. Epstein has joined Brace Place Orthodontics, which has offices in Manalapan, Freehold and East Windsor.

According to a press release, Epstein has been treating movie stars, musicians and international world leaders in his Upper East Side Manhattan practice for the past 20 years. He has lectured throughout Europe, South America and the Far East on his orthodontic technique, teaching orthodontists throughout the world. During his tenure as professor of post-graduate orthodontics at New York University, he was given the honor of Teacher of the Year.

Epstein is a diplomate of the American Association of Orthodontics and has served as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and editor of the N.Y.U. Orthodontic Alumni Society. He also reviews articles for the American Journal of Orthodontics.

Epstein will be treating patients two days a week alongside his son, Dr. Joshua Z. Epstein, and partners Drs. Brad Elkin, Thomas Morgenstern and George Sargiss.

General Nutrition Centers Inc. (GNC) of the Freehold area will help to generate public awareness of breast cancer through National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which takes place in October. The store will take part in a national GNC initiative by distributing a health guide for women that focuses on early detection and prevention of breast cancer. All customers who wear a pink ribbon to participating GNC stores on Oct. 15 — National Mammogram Day — will receive 10 percent off their purchases of regularly priced products. In addition, for each GNC employee who participates in Denim Day by wearing jeans and a pink ribbon to work on Oct. 15, the company will donate $5 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. GNC, based in Pittsburgh, has centers in Howell at Aldrich Plaza, in Manalapan at Tennent Nine, and in Marlboro at Acme shopping center.
