Greg Ostrowicki, a junior at Rutgers University, finished second in the Heptathlon at the Metropolitan Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the New York Armory. The Howell High School graduate totaled 4,860 in the event.

Rutgers finished second to Manhattan, 143-133.5, in the team competition.

Next up for the Scarlet Fliers are the IC4A Championships in Boston, Mass., March 5-7.

Ostrowicki was a multi-event star in track and field for the Howell Rebels during his scholastic career. His best events were the high jump and high hurdles. He was a Freehold Regional District champion in the high jump.

Kaitlin Givney, a freshman from Freehold Township High School, is a defender for The College of New Jersey’s 2004 women’s lacrosse team.

The Lions have one of the premier lacrosse programs in the country, with nine national titles to their credit. Last year, CNJ was 15-1 and took third place in the NCAA Division III tournament.
