Applications are being accepted from Monmouth County high school-age students to participate in the 17th Annual Sheriff Youth Week program July 14-18. Sheriff Youth Week is held at the Monmouth County Police Academy, 2000 Kozloski Road, Freehold Township, and affords participants the opportunity to explore interests in law enforcement through police academy-style training and instructional sessions by municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies. There is no fee for this challenging weeklong program.
“Recruits” report daily by 7:45 a.m. with the day ending at 4 p.m. Free lunch will be provided. Each day is filled with academic instruction as well as drill and physical training. Each recruit will receive a certificate from the Monmouth County Sheriff ‘s Office upon completion of the academy. Sheriff Youth Week will conclude with a formal graduation ceremony on Friday with parents and friends encouraged to attend.
