“The Crucible” is set during the Salem witchcraft trials of 1692. The play shows how a community of sane, god-fearing individuals can be influenced, under the right politically charged circumstances, to perform acts of insanity. Miller’s play focuses on a society where religious beliefs permit the townsfolk to sacrifice some of their own citizens solely on the word of a group of children.
To bring this challenging piece of drama to the stage, the production boasts a large, talented group consisting of 21 students from the local area.
Leading the cast, which is comprised of freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors, is Jonny Gorenc, Jill Luppinacci, Laura Robinson and Scott Ventre.

Joining the Manalapan High School Theater this year as the director for this production is Jesse Grabowski.
