Brick Memorial midfielder Ryan Morris, who sparked the soccer team to the NJSIAA tournament the past two seasons and to an NJSIAA Central Jersey championship in 2003, has accepted a financial package to NCAA Division II program East Stroudsburg University.
Morris also plays for the Jersey Shore Boca Soccer Club that has nine players headed off to college programs this fall.
Also, Brick Township star distance runner Erin Redden will be running in college in Virginia. That is a certainty as Redden has made two official visits to James Madison and recently to Virginia Tech. She will not plan any other official visits, according to her family.
Redden is a serious threat in the mile and two-mile outdoors in the county and Shore Conference championships, which will both be held at her school campus next month. Redden sparked the girls team to a second-place finish in Ocean County and a third-place finish in the Shore Conference, its highest finishes in many years.
