Officers investigate possible luring

MANALAPAN — Manalapan police are investigating a case of attempted luring that occurred March 28 on Old Queens Boulevard.

According to a press release from the Manalapan Police Department, two female juveniles were approached by an individual who was driving a blue or teal newer model four-door Nissan.

The individual was described as being a heavyset white male in his late 40s to 50s, wearing a dark-colored knit watch cap and a light blue button-down shirt with the top buttons open.

According to the press release, the driver asked the girls to come closer to the vehicle so he could ask them a question. The girls declined to do so and continued walking. When the driver began backing up the vehicle to follow them, they ran to the nearest house and called for help.

The vehicle then sped off at a high rate of speed in the direction of Pease Road, according to the press release. Anyone with information about this or similar incidents is asked to contact Patrolman Brian Cruse at 732-446-4300.
