American Heart Walk
raises $225,000
The Monmouth County American Heart Walk was held recently in Thompson Park, Lincroft section of Middletown, raising more than $225,000 to support the work of the American Heart Association.
James Vaccaro, 2001 chairman of the walk and CEO of Monmouth Community Bank, Long Branch, welcomed the walkers to the annual event. Approximately 2,300 individuals participated.
First Atlantic breaks ground for headquarters
First Atlantic Federal Credit Union, West Long Branch, recently broke ground for its new corporate headquarters on Industrial Way West, Eatontown. Assisting in the ceremony was Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarentolla.
The new facility will include a full-service branch bank and is being constructed to expand credit union services for First Atlantic members.
Long Branch director wins mid-Atlantic Emmy
Long Branch resident Jon Rogers was recently honored along with fellow employees of CN8, The Comcast Network, with a mid-Atlantic Emmy award.
Rogers directed "Halloween 2000," a segment of the Comcast family talk show Real Life With Mary Amoroso. The television special was honored with an award in the "Outstanding Entertainment Broadcast" category. CN8 received a total of six Emmy awards at the Philadelphia ceremony.
Sherman joins YHD’s West Long Branch office
Lani Sherman, Long Branch, recently joined YHD Realty as marketing and advertising manager in the company’s West Long Branch office.
Prior to joining YHD, Sherman was a media buying and sales assistant for a period of two years. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in communications from Kean University, Union.
