Luncheon to benefit
children with HIV/AIDS
A group of Monmouth County residents will host the first All That Jazz Luncheon at Sonny’s Southern Cuisine, Asbury Park, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, a nonprofit organization that operates the St. Clare’s Home for Children in Neptune and St. Clare’s Summer Camp in Sandy Hook.
Founded in 1985, the AIDS Foundation for Children provides a variety of programs and services to meet the growing needs of children and their families who are coping with the impact of HIV/AIDS.
At the St. Clare’s Home for Children, children ages birth to 12 years receive loving care in a home-like atmosphere from trained health-care professionals and volunteers. The children reside in a safe, warm and health environment until appropriate foster homes can be found or until they can be reunited with their families.
Held each summer in Monmouth County, St. Clare’s Summer Camp provides families living with HIV/AIDS with the opportunity to relax, enjoy nature, and spend time with one another.
Tickets are $60 each and may be purchased by calling Linda Stevens at (732) 502-0492. The group hopes to make the fund-raiser an annual event. For more information about the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, visit the Web site www.aidsresource.org.
