2 killed in Rt. 34 crash
on Monday morning
MARLBORO — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Route 34 just south of Reids Hill Road at about 9 a.m. Monday.
According to a press release from Marlboro police, the first vehicle, a 1999 Mercury SUV, was traveling north on Route 34 just south of Reids Hill Road.
The second vehicle, a 1994 Nissan Altima, was traveling south on Route 34 when it crossed the center line of the highway, striking the SUV head on in the northbound lane. The driver of the Altima and a passenger in the vehicle were killed in the crash.
The driver of the SUV was transported to Bayshore Community Hospital, Holm-del.
Sgt. Joseph Lenge, Patrolman Rich Borowski and Patrolman Charles Dudden are the investigating officers.
