Four Freehold Borough men were each charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated assault at the Post and Coach apartment complex, South Street, on Sunday.

According to Freehold Borough police Capt. Michael DiAiso, officers responded to the apartment complex at 6:40 p.m. for a report of a large fight. The captain said people involved in the altercation reportedly had been armed with bats and knives.

Upon their arrival, officers observed two vehicles with the windows broken out and a subject later identified as Miguel Angel Paredes, 26, of Jamesburg, walking away from the vehicle bleeding heavily.

Police said Paredes had suffered several stab wounds to his head and body. He was given first aid treatment at the scene.

DiAiso said the officers followed Paredes to an apartment that had the sliding-glass doors smashed out. Inside the apartment, officers found a metal tool with the end sharpened and fresh blood on it.

The captain reported that a second subject, later identified as Marc Antonio Ortega, 28, of Howell, was found and had sustained a stab wound to his right cheek and his left shoulder.

Police said a third suspect, found in another part of the apartment complex and identified as Roberto Vega, 21, of Freehold Borough, was also injured, but there was no documentation as to his type of injuries.

DiAiso said when the three men were brought together, they started fighting again and had to be physically separated and then placed in handcuffs.

The Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad and MONOC paramedics responded to the scene as did officers from the Freehold Township Police Department, who were called in to assist Freehold Borough officers Sgt. Andrew DeMuth, patrolmen Mark Garahan, Chris Otlowski and Keith Bailey, and Detective Michael George.

Also found in the area were several knives, broken bottles and bats.

A fourth suspect, Carlos Cruz-Cano, 28, of Freehold Borough, was then located. The extent of his injuries was not available.

Cruz-Cano, Ortega and Paredes were all taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, for treatment. Vega was taken to CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, for treatment.

After they were treated and released from the two hospitals to which they had been taken, all four men were sent to the Mon-mouth County jail, Freehold Township, in default of $15,000 bail each.
