The Monmouth County Sept. 11 Memorial Committee is seeking information on eight victims of the Sept. 11 attacks who are believed to have a connection to Monmouth County.
To date, the committee has located 133 individuals who were born, raised or lived in Monmouth County.
It has been unable to contact family members of the following victims: Jane Beatty, Middletown; Michael Jacobs, town unknown; Charles J. Mauro, Marlboro John Renna, town unknown; Carmen Milagros Rodriguez, Freehold Township; Susan Lee Schuler, Allentown; Richard Lee Stradelberger, Middletown; and Alan L. Wisniewski, Howell.
Individuals with information about the individuals or their families are asked to contact Faith Hahn at the Monmouth County Park System at (732) 842-4000, Ext. 4263 or by sending an e-mail to [email protected].
The committee and the Monmouth County Park System have reviewed multiple lists of victims and worked with the state of New Jersey to contact the families. The park system may request additional assistance if ongoing research produces names of other victims for verification.
The Sept. 11 memorial will be erected at Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook, Atlantic Highlands, and anticipated date of completion is September 2004. The memorial will be a tribute to all, with a focus on Monmouth County.
