At ceremonies held June 14 in the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Eatontown, Ranney School, Tinton Falls, graduated the 36 members of its senior class and recognized many of them for academic and other achievements.

The graduates include: Justin Bokert, Freehold; Rishi Chitkara, Marlboro; Nicole Colwell, Marlboro; Steven D’Ambrose, Manalapan; Vinod Gopal, Colts Neck; Courtney Kemp, Howell; Nicole Klug, Morganville; Ashwin Krishnan, Freehold; and Raymond Salani, Morganville.

The valedictory address was delivered by Emily Yu, who will be attending Duke University in the fall. The salutatory address was delivered by Neil Rajan, who will attend Brown University.

Adam Goldberg, Ranney School class of 1999 and a 2003 graduate of Dartmouth College, delivered the commencement speech. In addition to continuing the Ranney tradition of inviting alumni to speak at graduation, Adam’s brother, Jeffrey, was among the graduates. Adam will be attending New York University School of Law in the fall.

The following students were recognized with special Ranney School awards:

Raymond Salani, Morganville, Faculty Prize, presented to the senior who most exemplifies character and embodiment of the mission of Ranney School;

Priscilla Cheng, Tinton Falls, and Vinod Gopal, Colts Neck, Gershom Tomlinson Humanitarian Award, established in honor of former board member Gershom Tomlinson and presented to the senior or seniors who have demonstrated outstanding humanitarian qualities;

Dennis Adams, Rumson, and Nicole Colwell, Marlboro, Ranney School Parents Association Award, presented to two members of the senior class in recognition of academic achievement and community participation.

Ranney School is an independent, college preparatory day school serving 715 students in Beginners (age 3) through 12th grade. Its goal is to provide an enriched college preparatory curriculum with added emphasis on the highest standards of personal conduct. Founded in 1960, Ranney is celebrating its 43rd year of educating young people throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties.
