Eighth-graders
to graduate
at Brookdale

MARLBORO — The Marlboro Middle School and the Marlboro Memorial Middle School graduating classes of 2003 will be moving their tassels from left to right on June 18 at the Collins Arena on the campus of Brookdale Community College, Lincroft. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
A total of 715 eighth-graders will be honored in the combined ceremony.
The Marlboro Memorial Middle School, Nolan Road, opened in March. Students who attend that school moved into the new building from the Marlboro Middle School, Route 520.
The school academic leaders who will be leading the Pledge of Allegiance are Samantha Small from the Marlboro Middle School and Sahee Kim from the Marlboro Memorial Middle School.
The academic leaders who will be the student speakers will be Margot Lazow from the Marlboro Memorial Middle School and Scott Zuccarino from the Marlboro Middle School.
The moving of the tassels will be lead by Student Council President Julie Colletti from the Marlboro Middle School and Student Council President Anne Marie Del Giudice from the Marlboro Memorial Middle School.
"We are real proud of the graduating class of 2003," said Stephan Charton, principal of the Marlboro Middle School. "This was a challenging year because of the splitting of the Marlboro Middle School, but the students did a fabulous job rolling with the punches."
Joanmarie Penney, principal of the Marlboro Memorial Middle School, said she, too, is excited about the graduating class of 2003.
"For them to have moved over on March 15 and made their presence so known in such a sort time … they are magnificent," Penney said.
