MILLTOWN — United Way of Central Jersey is hosting its annual “Stuff the Bus” event to collect new school supplies for children in need in Middlesex and Somerset counties.
“We have been hosting this event for approximately 15 years,” said Patricia Desiderio, executive assistant at United Way.
Desiderio said the dollar amount of supplies collected varies from year to year.
“Last year we received almost $45,000 worth of supplies, which were distributed to 22 schools and/or nonprofit agency programs,” she said.
The “Stuff the Bus” even will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 25, outside the Target at 400 Ryders Lane, Milltown.
There will be live music provided by Magic 98.3, a visit by Sparkee, the mascot for the Somerset Patriots from 1-2 p.m., face painting and sand art for the children.
