offers Lenten services

The Jamesburg Association of Churches will hold a special Lenten worship series. Services are set for Ash Wednesday, March 8, at Jamesburg Presbyterian Church, 177 Gatzmer Ave.; March 15 at St. James Catholic Church, 36 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg; March 22 at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 56 Main St., Helmetta; and April 5 at St. John’s Baptist Church, Lake Avenue, Jamesburg. Monroe Dems to host

meeting at high school

The Monroe Township Democratic Club will hold a meeting at 8 p.m. on March 14 at Monroe Township High School, Perrineville Road. Guest speaker Cary Mintz, chairman of the Monroe Township Planning Board, will explain the process by which the Planning Board and the Zoning Board arrive at decisions.

‘Basic Bead Stringing’

The Monroe Township Library, 4 Municipal Plaza, will offer "Basic Bead Stringing With Suzanne Hye" at 7:30 p.m. on March 21 and 28 and April 11. Participants in the workshops will make finished jewelry — tin cup necklace, March 21; illusion necklace, March 28; Y-necklace, April 11. The program is open to the public. St. James Knights of Columbus Council No. 6336 will host Lenten fish dinners from 5-8 p.m. on Fridays through April 21 at the council home, 83 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg.
