Following on the heels of Fire Prevention Week and the county’s Firefighter and EMS Volunteer Appreciation Day, the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders has released a high-quality fire safety video that offers tips and strategies on how to prevent fires and keep safe during such emergencies.
“Fire Prevention and Safety: A Family Approach” was written and directed by Freeholder H. James Polos, chair of the Public Safety and Health Committee. It was produced by the county’s Public Safety and Health Department and the county fire marshal, and features fire companies from throughout the county.
“Ensuring the safety of our county’s residents has always been important to me, and one of the aspects of my duties as a freeholder and chairperson that I take the most seriously,” Polos said. “I have supervised safety projects for students in the past, but this video is one that is for the whole family. I hope this video will impart the lessons that our residents need to learn, and that residents everywhere will apply that knowledge to protect themselves and their families.”
The video made its public debut at the county’s Firefighter and EMS Volunteer Appreciation Day on Sept. 27.
It will be shown in schools throughout the county, and is available for public viewing at www.co.middlesex.nj.us under Fire Safety.
