Grateful to those who made VFW 5K event a success

On July 29, VFW Post 133, East Brunswick, sponsored a 5K run/walk to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mayor David Stahl and the East Brunswick Township Council, the East Brunswick Police Department and its Traffic Safety Unit, East Brunswick Fire districts 1 and 2 and the East Brunswick Rescue Squad for their support and time, which were instrumental in making this event possible. We thank Brunswick Memorial Home and Rezem Funeral Home for the kindness they extended to us. We are grateful to Stop & Shop (especially Laura, who spent the day working so hard to help us), Eileen Higgins, ShopRite of East Brunswick, Ria Mar, Boy Scout Troop 223 and the men’s and ladies’ auxiliary of Post 133, the Monroe VFW and Odd Fellows for their help and support. Thank you to all 285 participants who made this event such a success.

We look forward to seeing you at our next 5K run/walk. My sincere gratitude to all.

Tommy Coohill

Commander, VFW Post 133
