Defending Women’s Professional Soccer champion Sky Blue FC will hold open tryouts on Jan. 5-6 at the Robbinsville Field House, 153 Manor Way, Robbinsville. Tryouts are intended for college seniors or players who have completed their college eligibility. All participants must be at least 18 years old.
Each session of the open tryouts will run from 1-5:30 p.m., and the combines will include both tactical and technical training that will be led by the Sky Blue FC coaching staff. Players must arrive game-ready (cleats, no screw-ins) and prepared to participate on both days.
Registration is $75 and must be paid through the Sky Blue FC online registration at www.skybluesoccer.com. (click on news). The deadline for the January combine is Dec. 29. Hotel and additional information is also available on the online registration page.
Also on hand at the tryout will be Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues, the W-League affiliate program of Sky Blue FC. Space for the open tryouts is limited, so interested players are encouraged to register as quickly as they can.
Fastbreak Basketball Association, East Brunswick, will hold signups for the buddy ball division for kids and young adults with special needs 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 19 at Chittick School in East Brunswick. Madison Park girls softball will hold its final in-person registration for the current rates of $75 per player/$110 for two or more per family. The cost for T-ball is $50. As of Jan. 1, the rates will increase. Registration will take place at the Madison Park Little League clubhouse, located on Cheesequake Road behind the Madison Park firehouse. Girls ages 5 to 17 from Old Bridge and surrounding areas are welcome. The league provides full uniforms, and four divisions of play separated by age are offered. Work bonds are not required.
