Miguel A. Vazquez

Mr. Vazquez, 82, of Helmetta, died May 14, 2010, at his home. Born in Puerto Rico, he had lived in New York before settling in Helmetta in 1991. He retired in 2006 after 45 years with Pfingst and Co. Inc., South Plainfield. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, Jamesburg. Mr. Vazquez was predeceased by a son, Edwin, in 1991. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Luz Belen Vazquez; a son, Luis and his partner Michael Wilhelm of New York; two daughters, Ivette Vazquez of Staten Island, N.Y., and Jeanette Vazquez-Osahon and her husband Dan of Helmetta; two brothers, Angel and Jose; seven sisters, Rosa Rios, Esther DiMichele, Iraida Vazquez, Blanca Otero, Gladys Guadalupe, Nilsa “Coqui” Vazquez and Nilsa “Tidi” Vazquez; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Church. The Spotswood Funeral Home, Spotswood, was in charge of arrangements.
