Monmouth Medical honors EMS responders

LONG BRANCH — Nearly 100 men and women were honored at Monmouth Medical Center’s May 17 EMS Appreciation Night for Monmouth County’s First Responders. The event recognized the dedication, commitment and service of those who are first on the scene of emergencies and accidents.

The EMS workers gathered at the West Long Branch Community Center.

EMS Appreciation Night was held at the West Long Branch Community Center as part of National EMS Week in honor of EMS Everyday Heroes who anytime, anywhere will be there.

“Our local Emergency Medical Services teams work tirelessly and are extremely dedicated to helping community members in times of dire need and stress,” said Dr. Catherine Hanlon, medical director of Monmouth Medical Center’s Emergency Department. “This night gives us the opportunity to thank them for the work they do and show them that they are truly appreciated.”

More than100 prizes donated by area merchants were awarded to EMS participants.
