Summer camp to hold open house Sunday

Camp Middlesex, located on the Middlesex County College campus, Edison, will hold an open house 1-4 p.m. March 6 in the Technical Center. A raffle will be held for a $100 gift certificate toward camp.

Campers ages 6-18 have dozens of activities to choose from, including theater, robotics, chess, magic, karate, sports, video game creation, art, cooking, fashion, computers, and much more. Twenty-three new camp programs have been added to Camp Middlesex this year, including digital photography, making movies, how to be a disc jockey, the science behind special effects, and baking cupcakes. Each session, held in an air-conditioned classroom, runs for one week, mornings or afternoons, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. Kids can pick two camps for a full-day experience, and before- and after-camp care is available. Prices vary, but most sessions are $175 per half-day camp.

All instructors are certified classroom teachers, and a full-time nurse is on staff.
