SERGEANT WILLIAM E. HUTTING, 72, of Eatontown died Feb. 20 at St. Barnabas Hospice, Long Branch. Born in Paterson, he resided in Eatontown since 1937. He was a police officer for the Borough of Eatontown for 27 years, retiring in 1980. He was also a fireman at Monmouth Park Racetrack, Oceanport, for 15 years. He was a member of the Asbury Baptist Church, Asbury Park. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a Charter Member of the Eatontown Elks No. 2402, a 3rd Degree Mason and member of the Navesink Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township. He served as an ex-fire chief for the Eatontown Fire Department, as well as an ex-captain for the Eatontown First Aid Squad. His activities included hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Hutting. He is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, William B. and Deborah Hutting of Brick, Robert R. Hutting of Eatontown, and Michael P. Hutting of Long Branch; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna L. and William Goetz of Eatontown; two sisters, Dorothy Wiggs of West Chester, Pa., and Betty Ann Gregory of Sarasota, Fla.; and three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were by Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. JOSEPH H. ROSATI, 89, of West Long Branch died Feb. 21 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Red Bank, he resided in West Long Branch since 1950. He was a teacher, football coach and athletic director during his 47-year employment at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, where the gymnasium is dedicated to him. He also was manager at Surfside Beach Club, West End section of Long Branch, for 20 years. He was a parishioner of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II as a sergeant. He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa Scaglione Rosati in 2000; his sisters, Jennie, Maggie, Millie and Anna; and his brother, Henry. He is survived by his son, Joseph A. Rosati of West Long Branch; three grandsons; his sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
ANTHONY S. SICA, 92, of Middletown died March 8 at Green Acres Manor, Toms River. Born in San Arsceno, Italy, he resided in Belleville for 50 years before moving to Middletown 23 years ago. Mr. Sica was a warehouseman at General Motors, Bloomfield, for 23 years, retiring in 1955. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Sica, in 1994. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Sebastian and Angela Sica of Ocean; his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Orlando Graziano of Lakewood; his brother, Sam Sica of Belleville; four sisters, Rose Zirricco of Indianapolis, Ange Squitieri of Middletown, Rita Squitieri of Florida, and Mary Esposito of Manchester; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, followed by burial at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
