Donations sought for book, media sale

The Friends of the Monroe Township Library will hold its annual Book and Media Sale April 25-May 1 at the library, 4 Municipal Plaza.

Gently used books and media will be available at bargain prices. The sale will feature thousands of donated items sorted into fiction, hardcover, paperbacks, nonfiction, children’s books, movies, music and audiobooks. Gift books, better editions and coffeetable books will be offered at individual bargain prices.

The sale schedule is as follows:

April 25 — preview day, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., $1 entry donation;

April 26 — opening day, 1-4 p.m.;

April 27-30 — 10 a.m.-8 p.m.;

May 1 — 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Fill-A-Bagfor$ 1 event.

Donations of clean, lightly used books and media will be accepted through April 21 at the library main desk during regular hours. Due to limited storage space, only two bags of donations per visit will be accepted. For a receipt, donors should leave their name, address and a count of the hardcover, paperback and media items in each bag. Donations should not be placed in library book-return slots.

Encyclopedia, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books and textbooks cannot be accepted. Business, health and computer books should not be more than five years old. Media must be in working condition and cannot be taped or downloaded due to copyright laws. Children’s books, newer fiction, timely nonfiction, history and biography are especially welcome.

Hardcover books will be sold for $2 each at the sale; trade paperbacks, $1; mass-market paperbacks, 50 cents; DVDs, $4; videos and music CDs, $2; audio books, $3; children’s books, 50 cents. Special items in all categories will be priced as marked. Cash and checks will be accepted for payment.

Magazine back issues also will be available for purchase during the sale.
