Mrs. Pate, 77, of Spotswood, formerly of East Brunswick, died Aug. 18, 2008, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a crossing guard for East Brunswick Public Schools before becoming a sales clerk with Continental Bakery, East Brunswick, where she worked for 25 years. Her husband, Marvin E. Pate, died in 1985, and a daughter, Deborah Pate, died in 1974. Surviving are four daughters, Joanne Kenny, and her husband, Theodore, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, Maureen Brown, and her husband, James P., of Westampton Township, Donna Gregg of Jamesburg and Diane Pate of Spotswood; a brother, William Mirault of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Cecelia Ginter of Little Falls; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
