SPOTSWOOD — Members of the Dance Carousel’s J-Stepper Dance Co. recently won a first-place platinum award at the Rhythm in Dance Talent Competition at the Ocean Place Hilton in Long Branch.
The 50-member dance company from the Summerhill Road studio performed “Good Morning/No Bad News” for the first time at the event. The production number will also be the opening performance at the Dance Carousel’s recital in June.
Other awards included a diamond award for high score in the Junior Division, the choreography award and a cash prize.
The J-Steppers won a first-place high score award and the entertainment award in the Senior Division for its tap routine “Devil Went Down To Georgia,” while the Super Js and the J-Tappers tap ensemble won a platinum award for “Ready For a Miracle.”
