Charlotte Heitzman, 91, of Pennington died May 24 at home.
Born in New York City, she resided most of her life in Paterson. Upon her retirement, she resided in Toms River for 30 years before moving to Pennington three years ago.
Mrs. Heitzman was a retired elementary school teacher with the Paterson Board of Education. She retired in 1968 after 20 years of service.
Mrs. Heitzman was a graduate of Montclair State Teachers College. She was a daily communicant at St. Justin’s R.C. Church in Toms River and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and church choir.
Wife of the late Captain Edward Heitzman, formerly of the Paterson Fire Company, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Henrietta Heitzman of Pennington and Robert and Patricia Heitzman of Hollywood, Fla.; and a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and William Alexander of Bloomingdale; and 21 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 30, at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Ann in Lawrenceville with Father Vincent Gartland officiating. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
