Walker
   BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — Charles David Walker, 89, of Bordentown Township died June 12 at his residence.
   Born in Trenton, he had resided all of his life in the Hamilton-Bordentown area.
   As a youth he began working as a delivery boy on a local milk wagon, then following his graduation he began his career in bricklaying as an apprentice to his father where he was employed in the trade until his retirement in 1975.
   He was a member of The Bricklayers and Allied Craft-Workers Local #6 of New Jersey in the late 1930s.
   He was employed as a staff photographer with the New Jersey State Department of Agriculture with his work being published in several journals.
   Mr. Walker was an ardent gardener, well known for his hybrid peonies and was an active member of the American Peony Society for over 50 years. He also was an avid surf fisherman in North Carolina and the Florida Keys, being mentioned in Herb Blackwell’s fishing column over the years.
   The son of the late Charles Shepperson and Naomi Cassiday Walker, the brother of the late Howard Bird, Ernest B., Richard L. and Clifford L. Walker and the husband of the late Drucella Anna Walker, he is survived by a daughter, Drucella Anne Walker of Bordentown Township; a sister-in-law, Florence M. Walker of Beach Haven and several nieces, nephews and friends.
   Funeral services were held from the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, Bordentown, with the Rev. Joseph Olachea Jr., pastor of Shadyrest Bible Church, officiating.
   Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Florence Township.
John Mattes
   PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP — John W. “B.J.” Mattes, 54, died June 12 at Virtua Health-Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly.
   Born in Princeton, he was a longtime Hightstown resident before moving to Browns Mills 19 years ago.
   He was a foreman with Apex, Strober, Haddonfield Group Inc., Trenton.
   Mr. Mattes was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
   He was a member of Browns Mills United Methodist Church and the National Nostalgic Nova Club.
   He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
   Son of the late Carl and Carrie Willey Mattes, he is survived by his wife, Evelyn Craddock Mattes; three sons, Dennis of Wrightstown and John W. Jr. and Kevin of Browns Mills; a daughter, Melanie Pinto of Altoon, Pa., two sisters, Rosemarie Lewis of Hightstown and Joanne Hambrick of Florida; two brothers, David Wiley of Bordentown and Robert Lewis of Spotswood; three grandchildren, Edward, Christopher and Harley; and nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was held at Buklad Memorial Home, Hamilton, with the Rev. Elizabeth Gibbons, pastor of Browns Mills United Methodist Church, officiating.
   Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

Robert Mitten Sr.
   TRENTON — Robert Mitten Sr., 62, died June 17 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills.
   Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
   He retired from Champale Inc.
   Mr. Mitten was an Army veteran.
   Son of the late William and Florence Houlroyd, he is survived by his wife, Mildred E. Kochen Mitten; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and William of Trenton, and Robert Jr. and Dawn of Hamilton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon and Nelson Reyes of Stuart, Fla., and Michelle Mitten of Hamilton; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Carol and Joseph Swift of Ottsville, Pa., Lorraine and John Belzner of Chester, Pa., and Patricia Shindewolf of Hamilton; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Patricia Houlroyd of Florence; three grandchildren, Anthony Robert, Jessica and Robert III; and nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was at Knott’s Colonial Funeral Home, 2964 S. Broad St., Hamilton, with Deacon Jeff Peirfy officiating.
   Burial was in Our lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.

Brian Keith Heller
   NEWARK, Md. — Brian Keith Heller, 35, of Newark, Md., died June 14 in Newark in the line of duty.
   Born in Trenton, Mr. Heller was a resident of Newark, Maryland for the past five years.
   He was a graduate of Steinert High School and a graduate of the Police School of Montgomery County Community College.
   He was a former EMT for the Trenton EMS and a former member of the Roebling Rescue Squad and EMT Squad and the Capitol View Fire Company in Morrisville.
   He was formerly a police officer with the Morrisville Police Department and the Upper Makefield and Langhorne police departments. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Maryland.
   He was currently employed with the Worcester County Sheriffs Department for the past three years and the Berlin Police Department in Maryland. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1981 until 1984.
   Grandson of the late Jean and Julius Barowski, he is survived by his wife, Connie M. Heller; his parents, David and Connie Widmann of Hamilton Square; two daughters, April Lee Heller of Roebling and Laura Elizabeth Heller of Newark, Md.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Lynn and Jerry Merrick and Beth and Mike Berg all of Trenton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jeff and Mary Heller of Riverside, and Dan Heller of Oregon; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dolores and Nelson Le Moine of Morrisville, Pa; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Vic Caputo of Bensalem, Pa; a sister-in-law, Thelma Quinn of Bensalem, Pa; his grandmother, Mary Widmann of Yardville; his father, Daniel Heller, Sr. of Brick Township and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Funeral services were held at the Saul Colonial Home, Hamilton Square. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Gregory the Great R.C. Church, Hamilton Square.
   Interment followed in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery in Ewing.

Grover R.
Landschultz
   HAMILTON — Grover R. Landschultz, 80, of Hamilton Township died June 17 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.
   Born in Trenton, Mr. Landschultz resided in the Trenton and Hamilton areas for his entire life.
   He was a carpenter and builder by trade for more than 20 years before retiring in 1963.
   He was a Hamilton Township special police officer for 22 years. He was a real estate salesman and an associate member of Mercer County Board of Realtors. He managed the Greenwood Theater, the Olden Theater and the Ewing Drive-In.
   Mr. Landschultz was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II, serving in the South Pacific.
   He was a member of the American Legion Post #31, the VFW Post #3525, a member of the Hamilton Elks #2262 and served on the Handicapped Children’s Committee; a volunteer fireman since 1941, serving with the Colonial Volunteer Fire Company; an exempt member of the Colonial Fire Company and served as president for three years and fire commissioner for six years; a life member of Mercer County and the State Fire Police, serving as president for seven years; a member of New Jersey State Fireman’s Exempt Association, Mercer County Firemen’s Beneficial Association and Mercer County Firemen’s Association. He was an avid camper and fishing enthusiast.
   Son of the late Ethel (Barrymore) and Grover J. Landschultz, he is survived by a special friend, Julie Kasian; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elsie and Don Ray of Hamilton, Louise and Bill Trotto of Bordentown and Gloria and Gary Gorish of Bordentown; two sisters Dorothy Chordis of Trenton and Mary E. Clark of Pennington; three grandchildren, Joseph Crouthamel and his friend Delellis, Tammy Gorish and Scott Gorish and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
   Entombment will follow in the Veteran’s Mausoleum of Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

Timothy Martin
   HAMILTON — Timothy Martin, 17, of Mercerville died June 18.
   Born in Trenton, he lived in Hamilton Township his entire life.
   He worked at L.T.’s Deli, Bordentown.
   He attended Mercer County Technical School-Sypek Center and was to enter his senior year at Steinert High School in the fall.
   Grandson of the late Catherine C. Martin, he is survived by his parents, William S. and Kathleen Keating Martin; two sisters, Kathleen and Amy Martin of Mercerville; a brother, William J. of Bordentown; his paternal grandfather, Daniel A. Martin of Bordentown; his maternal grandparents, Roy and Patricia Hoch of Hamilton Square; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
   The funeral will be 9:30 a.m. today at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, 3816 E. State Street Extension, Mercerville.
   Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.
