SOMERVILLE — Joseph M. Genda died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. He was 90.
Born in Coledale, Pa., he lived in Somerville before moving to Hillsborough 30 years ago.
Mr. Genda was employed as a machine operator at Johns-Manville Corp. for over 40 years, retiring in 1972.
He served in the Army National Guard for over 20 years.
He was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Genda is predeceased by a son Martin Genda, who died in 1976 and a sister, Anna Mezoff, who died in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Winona Genda; a son, Paul of Manville; a daughter, Marjorie Levy of North Brunswick; a brother, Samuel of Van Nuys, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bruce C. Van Ardsdale Funeral Home in Somerville, followed by burial in New Cemetery, Somerville.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
