Inez M. Haynes, 91, died Thursday at Capital Health System at Fuld hospital in Trenton.
Born in Whiteville, N.C., she was a Trenton area resident more than 33 years.
She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Whiteville; the Eastern Starts of Columbia (N.C.) and Macedonia Baptist Church in Trenton for more than 30 years, where she served on the usher and missionary boards and was the church’s eldest mother.
Wife of the late John W. Haynes, daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Graham and mother of the late Mae Thompson and Jimmy Haynes, she is survived by a son, Wendell of Fayetteville, N.C.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce Haynes of Trenton, Priscilla LaForte of New Brunswick and Alnetta and the Rev. Edward Gant of Lawrenceville; 14 grandchildren, including Barbara Haynes of Trenton, whom she raised; 20 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1300 Greenwood Ave., Trenton, with the Rev. Keith A. Marshall, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until service at the church.
Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
