Andrew E. Jacob
MANSFIELD – Andrew E. Jacob, 91, died Oct. 4 at Mount Holly Center, Lumberton.
Born in Edison and a longtime resident, he moved to Columbus five years ago.
Mr. Jacob retired in 1971 after 25 years as a mechanical engineer with General Cable, Bayonne.
He was a member of the Arrowhead Civic Association of Edison and served with the Civil Conservation Corps during the Depression.
A tennis player, Mr. Jacob won many championships during the 1920s and 1930s. He enjoyed baseball, sailing and reading about nutrition and history.
Son of the late George and Julia Fedak Jacob and predeceased by several brothers and sisters, he is survived by his wife, Anne Kenez Jacob; a son, Mark of Columbus; a daughter, Linda Werts of Medford; and a granddaughter, Jessica Jacob.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Burlington.
Entombment was private.

Russo Rubay
CHESTERFIELD – Josephine E. Russo Rubay, 89, died Oct. 2 at Capital Health System at Fuld Hospital, Trenton.
Born in Boston and formerly of Waltham, Mass., she lived in Trenton and most recently in Chesterfield.
She was a supervisor of electronics at Raytheon Corp. of Waltham for 20 years and retired in 1975 from Trenton schools.
She enjoyed reading and the performing arts.
Daughter of the late Antonio and Lucia Tumminelli Russo and sister of the late Filippa Russo, Maria Filippa Giarrizo, Rose Spina, Mary Bagarella, Frank and Michael Russo, Rita Spencer and Elinor Arnold, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, Frank P. Rubay; a daughter and son-in-law, Jo-Ann M. and Nicholas Sciarrotta of Chesterfield, with whom she and her husband lived; a grandson, Christopher Sciarrotta; a sister and brother-in-law, Constance and George Gabriel of Lexington, Mass.; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Faye Russo of Bedford, Mass.; two brothers-in-law, Alexander and Joseph Rubay, both of California; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty streets, Trenton.
Funeral Liturgy was celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Stanley Krzyston officiating.
Entombment was in the Garden of St. Joseph at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton.

Anna Gontowicz
BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP – Anna Gontowicz, 81, died Oct. 8 at home.
Born in Russia, she lived in Bordentown Township for 50 years.
Mrs. Gontowicz retired as a dietitian with the Bordentown Military Institute, Bordentown.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Bordentown Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, St. Mary’s Senior Citizens, and the Bordentown Township Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband, Miron J. Gontowicz; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine J. and S. Michael Steele of Danbury, Conn.; a son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Susan Gontowicz of Mount Holly; two sisters, Anstasija Taszkowa of Russia and Maria Schmitt of France; and four grandchildren, Jocelyn and Jennifer Steele and Blair and Corinne Gontowicz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Oct. 13 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown City.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bordentown Township.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 12 at Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, with Christian Wake Service during this time.

Anna Marie Sulish
BORDENTOWN CITY – Anna Marie Sulish, 81, died Oct. 8 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, she has lived in the Bordentown area for the past 40 years.
Mrs. Sulish retired in 1968 after 14 years as an administrative assistant in accounting and finance at McGuire Air Force Base.
She was a member and past president of the Rosary Altar Society of St. Mary’s Church, and served as the society’s membership chairperson for 25 years. She also served for one term as secretary of the social concerns committee. She was a member of the Blue Army Prayer Group of the Poor Clare’s Monastery, and served as a Red Cross volunteer at Walson Army Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of AARP and NARFE.
Daughter of the late Frederick and Rose Bernacki Meirer, she is survived by her husband, John Sulish; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Geraldine Sulish of Florence, Philip and Alice Sulish of Bloomfield; Fredric and Maureen of Bloomfield; and five grandchildren, Jason, Niel, Alexia, Justin and Elizabeth Sulish.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at St. Mary’s Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, with the Rev. Michael Burns, Pastor, as celebrant.
Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Bordentown.
Friends may call Oct. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Oct. 13 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hartmann Funeral Home of Bordentown, 430 Crosswicks St. Bordentown.

Charles James
Bullecks
MOUNT LAUREL – Charles James Bullecks, 78, died Sept. 30 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills.
Born in Fieldsboro, he lived in Bordentown Township before moving to Mount Laurel.
Mr. Bullecks retired after 25 years with Church Brick Co., Fieldsboro.
He was a Navy Armed Guard veteran of World War II.
He enjoyed wood carving.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Bullecks; one brother, Alvin, of Fieldsboro; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Janet of Lakewood, Colo., Bill and Nancy of Bordentown and Dave and Colleen of Buckfield, Maine; five grandchildren; five nephews; and other relatives.
Funeral and cremation were private.

Peggy Burke
SILVER SPRINGS, Md. – Peggy Burke, 64, died Sept. 23 due to injuries caused when a metal object crashed through the window of the car she was driving and hit her in the head.
Wife of the late Edward Raymond Burke Jr., Ph.D., she is survived by three daughters and a son, Cynthia Burke, Mary Elizabeth Burke, Linda Parker and William Parker, her children from a former marriage; a grandchild, Evan Scott Parker; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty Ann Burke, Maida Burke, Sheila and Donald Giberson and Anita and Lenny Ricasoli, all of Bordentown.
Funeral services and interment were held in Maryland.
Samuel J. Ritter
BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP – Samuel J. Ritter, 94, died Oct. 4 at Mount Laurel Nursing Home.
Born in New Egypt, Pa., and a graduate of Allentown (Pa.) High School and Penn State Extension School, he lived in Trenton and Whiting before moving to Burlington in 1998.
He worked with Westinghouse Electric Co., East Pittsburgh, Pa., and was a draftsman with Fleetwing Co., Trenton, RCA and David Sarnoff Research Center, West Windsor, retiring as manager of the drafting department in 1971 after 27 years.
While in Trenton, Mr. Ritter was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he was council president, treasurer and Sunday school superintendent.
He helped organize the Mill Hill Child and Family Development Center in Trenton and was treasurer there until 1977.
He was past president of Crestwood Village board of trustees of Co-op 2, vice president of Crestwood Sun and a member of Crestwood Community Cultural Committee and Christ Lutheran Church in Whiting.
Son of the late Raymond and Sadie Frantz Ritter, and husband of the late Theresa Pfeiffer Ritter, he is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert S. and Carol Ritter of Vincentown, Thomas E. and Janet Ritter of Lawrenceville, David M. and Marianne Ritter of Florence and Richard R. and Sandy Ritter of Hamilton; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at Paulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, Lawrence, with the Rev. David Jost of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mount Holly officiating.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
Frank S. Kula
MANCHESTER – Frank S. Kula, 79, died Oct. 2 at New Jersey Veterans’ Memorial Home, Vineland.
Born in Olean, N.Y., he lived in Manahawkin before moving to Whiting in 1990.
He retired in 1982 after 41 years of government service. He worked 25 years at McGuire Air Force Base, when he was a budget officer, and previously worked at Fort Dix, Brooklyn Army Base and on Governor’s Island. He had worked with the Federal Aviation Administration in Pomona and Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and rose from private to captain in five years. He received the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Bronze Star with V for valor, Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster, two Indian arrowheads and four campaign stars.
Mr. Kula was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Whiting, and past president and state vice president of the Thomas B. McGuire chapter of the Air Force Association.
Brother of the late Walter and grandfather of the late James Myers, he is survived by his wife, Madeline Burnham Kula; a son, Stephen F. of West Virginia; four daughters, Margaret Myers of Wrightstown, Connie Simmon of Hamilton Square, Judy Kula of Mount Laurel and Katherine Garcia of Moorestown; a brother, Stanley of Olean; six sisters, Josephine Hayden, Angie Brown and Mary Hill of Olean, Sophie Smith of Lansdale, Pa., Ronnie Shea of Bordentown and Tessie McLowed of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; two stepsons, Steven Cervetto of West Creek and Robert Cervetto of Texas; a stepdaughter, Linda Musmecci of Cedar Hill, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at Thos. L. Shinn Funeral Home, Manahawkin.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Run.

Rose Rizzuti
Trapani
SOUTH RIVER – Rose Rizzuti Trapani, 75, died Oct. 6 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in New York City, she lived in Hightstown for 25 years before moving to South River 25 years ago.
She was a seamstress for many years in South River and most recently worked at Marion Dress.
Mrs. Trapani was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Sister of the late Charles Rizzuti, she is survived by two daughters, Mary Sobon of Florence and Cathy Rodman of East Brunswick; a son, Angelo of Cream Ridge; a sister, Frances Comellari of Monroe; a sister-in-law, Vilma Riozzuti of Ohio; and six grandchildren, Cosimo Trapani, Juliane, Robert and Michael Sobon and Alexander and Charles Rodman.
The funeral was held from Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick.
Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Lynette C. Harvilla
HAMILTON – Lynette C. Harvilla, 66, died Oct. 6 at her home.
Born in Trenton and a lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Rider College and had been a supervisor for the New Jersey State Police Criminal Records Division.
Daughter of the late George M. Dix, she is survived by her mother, Mary Shumski Dix, with whom she lived; three sons and daughters-in-law, Alex and Ellen Harvilla of Chesterfield, Gary and Joan Harvilla of Texas and David and Darlene Harvilla of Fairless Hills, Pa.; six grandchildren, Alexis, John, Nichole, Kristin, Stephen and Alyssa; and her longtime companion, Charlie Farauto.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Raphael Church of Hamilton, followed by entombment in St. Mary’s Mausoleum.
Arrangements were by Hartmann Funeral Home of Hamilton.
