The Lady Eagle field hockey team ended its season with a record of 16-4-1.
Coach Sharon Rose was pleased with the performance of her squad.
"The seniors did an excellent job as leaders," said Rose, who added the seniors have left behind a sense of team spirit.
She feels the girls coming back know what success is and, hopefully, will use this spirit to lead them to another excellent year. The girls exhibited a lot of heart and this year, she said, and that should continue to be a big part of who they are.
Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Simone added, "The girls were outstanding this year. The girls on this team are so young that by the time they are seniors they will win the states."
Dr. Simone feels the best game this season was the Oak Knoll game, which the girls feel they won because of Principal Harry Bell’s blue hair.
Bell knows next year will be a challenge for the young squad.
"For a young team, they are good," Bell said. "They are going to be a good team next year too but its going to be hard to replace Jill Courter and Kendra Benitez."
