Elsie L. Holmes, 92, died Dec. 25 at Capital Health System at Mercer hospital, Trenton.
Born in Conway, Mo., she lived in Wichita, Kan., and Camano Island, Wash., before moving to Lawrenceville in 1994.
She was a member of Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church and had volunteered for many church activities. She enjoyed bird watching, children’s books and corresponding with family members. Mrs. Holmes attended Washburn University of Topeka, Kan., and Wichita State University. Daughter of the late David Luther and Ada Grizzel Patterson and wife of the late Carl S. Holmes, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Denise M. and Daniel Shungu of Lawrenceville; and two grandsons.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Jan. 6 at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Joan Semenuk officiating.
Burial will be private.
There will be no calling hours.
