SENIOR CORNER

Chapter A

The Senior Citizens Chapter A meet the first Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Municipal Complex. We are open to new members. Our next meeting will be today, Thursday.
The Office on Aging located at Washington School in Raritan is sponsoring a seminar Monday, April 16. There will be speakers and lunch at the Coach and Paddock. Transportation will be provided. This is free, call Office on Aging.
The Magic Show will be held Wednesday, April 25, at 5:30 p.m. in Hillsborough High School auditorium and is free to Senior Citizens for that performance only.
Our May 3 meeting will feature a hot roast beef lunch for $10. You must make your reservations so we know how many people to prepare for. The roast beef luncheon is always well attended. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m. followed by the regular meeting.
Some seats are left for the trip to Mystic Seaport and RI, May 22 and 24, departure time 7:30 a.m. If anyone is interested in sailing ships they will enjoy seeing these vessels. You can go aboard and see how little room there was and try to imagine how people lived. They were in the process of making a replica of a slave ship. There are shops and a museum. In Rhode Island you will tour mansions, enjoy a boat ride and see a winery. May is the perfect time.
Thursday, June 14, 8:45 a.m. The musical Civil War at the Dutch Apple Theater in Lancaster, Pa., includes lunch and show. This show has good reviews.
Thursday, April 12, 8:45 a.m. Showboat — Lunch and show at the Three Little Bakers Theater. Bus leaves DeCanto’s in Hillsborough.
For reservations and information, on the above trips and the club in general, call 369-4474.

Being grown up means we can have our own way — at our own expense.

Chapter B

Chapter B Spring Luncheon will be held April 12 and will be in lieu of our regular meeting. Doors open at 11 a.m. and luncheon at noon. Our next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on May 10.
Tickets to "Cabaret LuLu — Hudson Valley, N.Y. (luncheon and show) scheduled for August 22 will go on sale at that time. Cost is $49.
A reminder to anyone who has not renewed their membership for this year, you have until April 12. After that date, all those who have not renewed membership will be dropped from the roster. Cost of membership is $5 per year.
It was great to see the big turnout for our "Breakfast with Seniors’ which was held last Thursday at the Municipal Center. I would like to think the turnout was for the good company and not for the Egg McMuffins which were served. A fun game that taxed our brain was played and we had several winners.
This was a great way to spend the morning and I would say a good time was had by all.
Did you know! There are 293 ways to make change for a dollar.
