Elizabeth Bette Watson of Princeton Borough died Sunday at home. She was 78.
Born in Spring Lake, she was a resident of Princeton Borough since 1941.
She was employed in the Clerk’s office of Princeton Township, retiring in 1991 after 10 years.
She was an active Princeton volunteer. She will become a member of the 5 and 20 Club of the Princeton Medical Center Volunteers. She served the hospital more than 20 years and over 2000 hours, beginning in 1957.
She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Princeton Hook & Ladder Fire Co., past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Princeton Lions Club and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of B.P.O.E. #2129 of Princeton.
Wife of the late Douglas N. Watson Sr., she is survived by son Douglas N. Watson Jr. of Princeton; daughter Cathy Ann Morris of Mooresville, N.C.; and grandchildren Jimmy, Steven and Katie Morris and Brandon and Meghan Watson.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
Burial will be in All Saints’ Cemetery, Princeton.
Visiting hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Taught in Princeton schools
Barbara E. Taylor Silva of Princeton Township died Wednesday at The Medical Center at Princeton. She was 75.
Born in Princeton, she was a lifelong area resident.
She retired in 1982 after 20 years with the Princeton Regional Schools, having taught at Community Park and Riverside schools.
She graduated from Princeton High School in 1943.
She received a bachelor’s degree from Trenton State Teacher’s College in 1948 and a master’s degree from Hunter College in 1957.
She was a teacher in New York City for five years before assuming teaching posts in Princeton.
In 1964, she was named a fellow by the Association for Childhood Education International and had worked at the association’s national headquarters in Washington, D.C.
She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa sorority.
Daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Moore Taylor, she is survived by husband Edmund Joseph Silva; aunts Alice May Satterfield and Louise Holland May, both of Princeton; cousins Shirley Satterfield of Princeton, Howard May of Urbana, Ill., Yuki Moore Laurenti of Trenton, Patricia May Kienhofer of West Milford, Geraldine Thompson of Albany, N.Y., Carolyn Yeager Hughes of Trenton, Robert Williams of Princeton, John Williams of Aurora, Colo., Paul Williams of Trenton, Walter Dowers and George Dowers of Trenton; goddaughter Leslie Barbour of Salisbury, N.C.; friends, including Olga Green of Princeton, Margaret Probasco of Pennsauken, Gloria Joyner of Fort Washington, Md., and Vernella D’Arbeau of New York City; and other relatives.
The funeral was held Saturday.
Arrangements were by Hughes Funeral Home in Trenton.
Kenneth P. McCarthy
Home builder
MONTGOMERY Kenneth P. McCarthy died Thursday at home in the Belle Mead section of the township. He was 44.
Mr. McCarthy was a partner in a home construction business and consulting firm.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a 1978 graduate of Cornell University, earning a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations.
He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the St. Charles of Borromeo Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by his father, Edward McCarthy of Sterling, Va.; wife Victoria S. McCarthy of Montgomery; son Michael and daughter Kaitlyn, at home; and brother Edward of Herndon, Va.
The funeral was Monday.

Grace Bentley Wauters
Princeton resident
Grace Bentley Wauters of Princeton died Friday. She was 94.
She was a resident of Lawrence for more than 40 years before moving to Basking Ridge and later to Princeton.
Born in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England, she immigrated to the United States in 1922. In 1941, she became a naturalized citizen.
She was a homemaker, known for her seamstress abilities and cooking skills.
In Lawrence, she was an active Brownie leader for many years.
Many enjoyable summers were spent with her grandchildren on Upper Saranac Lake, N.Y.
Sister of the late Nellie Buxton and Arthur Bentley, she is survived by her husband of 71 years, Richard; daughter Kathleen of Basking Ridge; sons Allen of Maiden, N.C. and Bruce of Plainsboro; brother Frederick Bentley of Lawrence; sister Frances MacConnell of Haven Beach; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a grandson.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton
Burial will be at Lawrenceville Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Doris R. Bussell
Worked at Carrier Clinic
HAMILTON Doris R. Bussell died Friday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Bound Brook, she lived most of her life in the Skillman section of Montgomery before moving to Hamilton seven years ago.
She worked at Carrier Clinic in Montgomery, retiring in 1992.
Daughter of the late Abraham and Florence Hunt, mother of the late Victoria Penzella, John Bussell and Todd Bussell, sister of the late Elizabeth Fardis and Florence Mistyhn, she is survived by daughters Florence McVeigh and April Durland, both of Florida, and Claudia Hussey of East Windsor; sons James R. Bussell of Texas, Gary Bussell of Lawrence, Carl A. Bussell of Virginia, Guy H. Bussell of Florida and Terry J. Bussell of Hamilton; sister Abagail Richards of East Windsor; brother Abraham Hunt of Georgia; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.
Burial will be in Kingston Cemetery.
