James Coxon

   James "Jay" T. Coxon, 73, died Sunday, May 27, at Royal Health Gate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Trenton.
   Born in Trenton, he was a longtime Lawrence and Forked River resident.
   He retired after 35 years as supervisor of packaging control at Sterling Drug Co., Hamilton.
   He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
   He was a member of Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, Trenton Lodge 105 BPOE, Trenton Lodge 5 F&AM, Trenton Forest No. 4 Tall Cedars of Lebanon and Crescent Temple Shrine. He was a charter member of Lawrence Elks Lodge 2412 BPOE, life member and past president of Slackwood Fire Co., life member of Lawrence Township Emergency First Aid Squad and past president of Lawrence Township Lions Club.
   Son of the late James T. Sr. and Rose Huston Coxon, he is survived by his wife, Myrtle Baker Coxon; three cousins, John Ball of Hasbrouck Heights, Dorothy Staiger of Philadelphia and Thomas Ball of New Bern, N.C.; and four godchildren.
   The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road.
   Burial will be in Lawrenceville Cemetery.
   Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the funeral home.
   Slackwood Fire Co. will conduct services at 8 p.m.
