HAMILTON Robert C. Hutton Sr., 56, died Friday, July 27, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Hutton was a self-employed flooring contractor who worked in the Trenton, Princeton, Pennington and Lawrenceville areas more than 35 years.
Son of the late Vincent and Sadie Rickett Hutton and brother of the late Vincent Jr. and Thomas, he is survived by his wife, Sandra Corbin Hutton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert C. Jr. and Debbi Hutton of Stockton and Christopher R. of Hamilton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa J. and Robert Rubi of Hamilton and Kelly A. Hutton of Trenton; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, James and Michele Hutton of Virginia, Patrick and Marie Hutton of Brick, William and Janet Hutton of Jobstown and John of Annapolis, Md.; three grandchildren, Amanda and Patricia Rubi and Acacia Hutton; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Aug. 2 from Brenna Funeral Home, Trenton. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Trenton. Burial was private.
LAMBERTVILLE Jeannette McCullough Rowland, 97, died Monday, July 30, at her daughter’s home.
Born in Philadelphia, Ms. Rowland had lived in Paoli, Pa., Long Island and Dunedden, Fla., from 1970 until moving to Lambertville two years ago.
She had volunteered at the Nassau County Hospital gift shop in Minneoli, Long Island, for many years and was awarded the Teddy Roosevelt Award for her efforts.
Daughter of the late Robert McCullough and Elizabeth Davies and widow of John Wallace Rowland, she is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth E. Cursley of Lambertville; one son, John Robert Rowland of Weston Conn.; one sister-in-law, Juanita Rowland of Willow Grove Pa.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were private and under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville.

LAMBERTVILLE Jean Palumbo Strouse, 78, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, at home.
Born in Lambertville, she was a lifelong resident.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and past treasurer of St. John the Evangelist School PTA, Lambertville. She was a member of the Ladies of Lambertville Elks, Lambertville Senior Citizens and the Lambertville chapter of Deborah Heart and Lung Center Foundation.
Widow of Clifford H. "Chip" Strouse and daughter of the late Rocco and Mary Morelli Palumbo, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine J. and Philip C. Beckett and Dorothy Lee and Richard B. Anthes, and four grandchildren, Philip C. Beckett II, Lawrence E. Anthes, Cynthia M. Anthes and Richard B. Anthes Jr., all of Lambertville; a sister, Dorothy Leffever of Flemington; and a brother, George Palumbo of Lambertville.
A funeral mass was held Saturday at the church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, Lambertville.

READINGTON Aileen H. Finer, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 2, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township.
Born in West Orange, she lived in Fords 25 years and Charlestown, R.I., 27 years before recently moving to Whitehouse Station.
She retired as a secretary from the Boy Scouts of America, New Brunswick, and had been a member of St. James Chapel, Charlestown.
Daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine Higgins, she is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lawrence Finer; two daughters, Peg Sullivan of Ringoes and Jane Lintz of Titusville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday from the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, Raritan Township. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Alphonsus Church, Hopewell. Burial was in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Michael McCombs of Jacksonville, Fla., died Thursday, Aug. 2.
He was a native of Titusville, Pa., and a longtime resident of the Lambertville-New Hope area. He lived in Jacksonville the past 14 years.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita McCombs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Tom Walker of Doylestown and Sheri and James Jenkins of Jacksonville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark James and Lee McCombs of Homosassa, Fla., Glenn and Stacey McCombs of Cape Coral, Fla., and Pete and Sheryl Soulis of Jacksonville; and 11 grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob Walker, Eli and Katy Ehlinger, Austin, Anneka, Hunter and Mason McCombs, Lindsey and Peter Soulis and Aliya Jenkins.
Funeral services were held in Florida under the direction of the Hardage-Goldens Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
NEW HOPE Dr. W. James Shoenthal, 87, of New Hope died Thursday, Aug. 2, at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Born in New Paris, Bedford County, Pa., he was the son of the late W. James and Maude L. Blackburn Shoenthal.
Dr. Shoenthal was a graduate of Juniata College in 1934 and Jefferson Medical School in 1938, majoring in biology and chemistry. He practiced six years in New Paris and 35 years in the Lambertville-New Hope area as a general practitioner. He retired in 1981.
Dr. Shoenthal was a member of Church of the Incarnation in Quakertown where he served as a vestry member.
He served on the New Hope Borough Council for more than 20 years as well as the Board of New Hope Building and Loans and the Doylestown Hospital board.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene Pyatt Shoenthal; a son, W. James III of Northampton, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and John G. Quinby of Port Jervis, N.Y., and Lorraine E. and Robert P. Beeman of Central City, Pa.; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Vonnie and Robert Sullivan of Mamaroneck, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A requiem mass was held Tuesday at the church. Burial was in Fishertown Cemetery, Bedford County.

BOONVILLE, N.Y. Ida C. Case, 86, died Sunday, Aug. 5, at Lewis County Extended Care Facility, Lowville.
Born in Ringoes, she was a longtime resident before moving to Raritan, N.J., in 1997 and Boonville three years ago.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Case was a former member of United First Presbyterian Church of Amwell, Larisons Corner. She graduated from Flemington High School in 1933.
Daughter of the late Fred and Lillian Staats Smith and widow of Alston Case, she is survived by two sons, Ronald Case of Willingboro, N.J., and Charles Case of Boonville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held today (Aug. 9) at 11 a.m. at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Reaville.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, Pa. Jonas L. Parrish, 71, died Sunday, Aug. 5, at home.
Born in Trenton, he was a longtime Lambertville resident before moving to Buckingham Township 10 years ago.
He retired after 35 years as a maintenance supervisor with RCA Corp. in Somerville.
Mr. Parrish was a part-time delivery driver with the Lambertville Pharmacy. He was a member of Old Rocks Church in West Amwell and Amwell Lodge 12, F&AM, Lambertville.
He served in the Navy.
Mr. Parrish was an original member of the Lambertville Board of Education and past member of JCs of Lambertville.
Son of the late Jonas L. and Beulah Bowlby Parrish, widower of Primrose Tereshko Parrish and father of the late Debra L. Hartpence, he is survived by his wife, Shirley Marsh Parrish; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Christine Parrish of Raritan, N.J.; a stepson, John Pickell of Bloomsbury, N.J.; two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Pam and Dirk Struening of Ringoes and Cheryl Stabile of Raritan; and six grandchildren.
The funeral was held Wednesday at the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville. Burial was in Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township.

WEST AMWELL Thomas E. Grieser, 63, died Monday, Aug. 6, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township.
Born in Corona, N.Y., he lived in Roselle Park from 1965 to 1980 before moving to West Amwell 21 years ago.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Lambertville, and the Knights of Columbus. He volunteered at Roselle Park Volunteer Fire Co.
Mr. Grieser retired in 1987 after 40 years as a manager with AT&T and was a member of its Pioneer organization. He was a Navy veteran.
Son of the late Raymond and Anne Darak Grieser, he is survived by his wife, Irene Grieser, and a brother, Raymond Jr. of Bloomsbury, Pa.
The funeral will be today (Aug. 9) at 9 a.m. from the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
