Sally Miley, 81, of Toms River, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Community Hospital in Toms River following an extended illness.
She was born in Sayreville.
She resided in Jamesburg, and later in Milltown for 15 years before moving to Toms River 13 years ago. She was a patient at Holiday Care Center in Toms River for the last 20 months.
Ms. Miley was last employed by Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick as a secretary for seven years before retiring. Prior to that, she had worked as a head teller for several years at First National Bank in Sayreville.
She was a member of the Lady Elks of Jamesburg and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion in Jamesburg. She was also a member of St. Maximillian Kolbe R.C. Church in Toms River.
Her parents, Jacob and Victoria (Rojewski) Swieszbinski, are deceased. Her husband, Henry Earl Miley, died Jan. 1 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda M. Vanaman of Cedarville; two grandchildren, Rebecca Heck of New York City and David Heck of Sparta and three great-grandchildren, Amber, Forrest and Trystan Heck.
Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18, in the chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery in South Brunswick. An interment followed the services. Arrangements were under the direction of Freitag Funeral Home in Bridgeton.
