Feb. 25 deadline for Board of Education hopefuls to file

So far, no one has submitted the paperwork to run for any of the four Board of Education seats up for election this April, district Business Administrator Richard Reilly said on Wednesday.
"Nobody has filed yet, but I’m not worried, in my experience people take their time, waiting until the last few days," Mr. Reilly said.
Board member Dorothy Bradley has said she will seek re-election to a three-year term this spring. "I will definitely run in April," Ms. Bradley said in January.
Lisa Galasso, another board member whose term is expiring in April, had said she was interested in running again, but did not know if she was going to seek the one one-year term or one of the three three-year terms open.
"I am still contemplating my decision, I just don’t know," former board President Phil Fuccille said. "I have been on the board for over 12 years, that’s a lot of time."
Mary Lou Cebula, the fourth board member whose term is expiring, had indicated earlier that she had not reached a decision regarding her candidacy. Dr. Cebula was unavailable for comment on Wednesday.
Potential candidates have until 4 p.m. Feb. 25 to submit their forms to the board of education offices. The documents are available at the board’s offices at the Roosevelt School. Additional information is available at 231-8500.
