An East Windsor man fondled a 13-year-old girl as the two were riding the escalator at the Quaker Bridge Mall, police said.
Eric Joseph Martin, 31, of The Orchard in East Windsor was charged with criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child on Feb. 16, police said.
Mr. Martin followed the girl onto the escalator in the middle of the mall and touched the victim on the buttocks, police said. When the victim and a friend got off the escalator, he followed them into two stores, police said.
The victim alerted a clerk in the second store. The clerk called Quaker Bridge Mall security guards. The security guards detained Mr. Martin and notified the police department, police said.
He was released on $5,000 bail.
