“Wildflower” The Second Story Art Gallery in Atlantic Highlands will host an exhibit of metal sculptures and drawings by artist Sabrina Fadial.
“Endangered Beauty” runs through Nov. 30, with a closing reception 6-8 p.m. Nov. 29 at the gallery, located at 78 First Ave.
“As an artist, nature is my muse. Inspiration comes from my personal life experience,” Fadial said in an artist statement. “The work of art is a byproduct of the creative process, which is life itself. I am a collector of seed pods, corks and rusty bits — treasures from scrap yards, industrial detritus.”
Gallery owner Robert O’Connor notes that Fadial works over a hot forge, hammering hot steel.
“The contrast between the materials and the light and ethereal forms she creates are what gives them such power,” he said.
