Joan Rue is back for another year as school board president.
At Tuesday’s Board of Education reorganization meeting, Ms. Rue was elected to her 11th one-year term as board president. She was nominated by Elizabeth Silverman, whose motion was seconded by Bill Shraudenbach.
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Rue was sworn in to a one-year term on the board that she won in last week’s school board elections, receiving 365 votes.
Also sworn in were Ms. Silverman, who received 356 votes, and Frank Ransegnola and Kenneth Griffin, who both tallied 331 votes. All three were elected to three-year board terms.
Ms. Silverman was chosen by the board to serve as vice president for a one-year term. She was nominated by Adam Hawes, whose motion was seconded by Mr. Ransegnola.
Last year’s board vice president, David Andrews, was appointed to serve as the Cranbury School District’s representative to the Princeton Regional Board of Education.
Board member Bill Persons was appointed as the Cranbury School District’s representative to the Cranbury Public Library Board of Trustees.
Appointments to various board committees, including Finance, Policy and Curriculum, were not made at the reorganization meeting. Board officials said they will be decided in the near future.
All appointments made on Tuesday were unanimously approved by the school board.
