Nine choirs from around the state and Philadelphia will be congregating at the Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor for the Jewish Choir Festival of Central New Jersey on Sunday.
From 1 to 3 p.m., the choirs, including Lashir from the Princeton Jewish Community Center and the choir from Congregation Beth Chaim in West Windsor, will be lifting their voices to sing a variety of Jewish music.
"This biannual event is a great way of getting choirs together," said Cantor Larry Branspiegel of the Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor. "I’m looking forward to a wonderful day of Jewish music."
According to Cantor Branspiegel, the festival will be open to the public and is free of charge. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
Other choirs participating include the choir from the Beth El Synagogue, Sharim V’Shaot of East Windsor, Arbel Chorale of Philadelphia, B’nai Israel Choir of Toms River, B’nai Tikvah Makhelah of the New Brunswick area, Kol Rina (a Middlesex County Jewish community chorus) and Temple Beth Shalom of North Brunswick.
