DELAWARE Raymond E. Van Horn, 70, died Monday, Sept. 9, at home.
Born in Doylestown, Pa., he was a lifelong Hunterdon County resident.
Mr. Van Horn was a heavy equipment operator and member of Operating Engineers Local 825, Newark. He had a red seal boiler operator’s license and retired from Hunterdon Medical Center after 15 years.
He was a member of Lambertville Moose Lodge, Stockton Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Son of the late Lester and Emma Wiley Van Horn, he is survived by his wife, Doris Carns Van Horn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Mary Van Horn of Ringoes and Fred and Vicki Van Horn of Duluth, Ga.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and John Groch of Frenchtown and Sally and John Mazarous of Winder, Ga.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sept. 10 at Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lambertville.

SOLEBURY Frank J. Soriero Jr., 74, died Saturday, Sept. 7, in Seville, Spain, while visiting family members.
Born in Centre Bridge, he was a lifelong resident of the Solebury area.
Mr. Soriero graduated from New Hope-Solebury High School in 1945 before a tenure in the Navy aboard the USS Mississippi.
He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University in 1951, beginning his enthusiasm for Penn State that continued throughout his life.
In 1951 Mr. Soriero married Anne Marie Davis, whom he met at Penn State.
He worked as an engineer, then in aeronautics development, housing construction, real estate finance and commercial lending. He later became a certified professional engineer, then returned to school at Widener University to earn a master of business administration degree.
He was a business leader in Philadelphia for many years as a result of his work with Curtiss-Wright, Thiokol Corp., HRB Singer, IVB bank and Meritor Savings and Loan.
An avid fisherman and hunter, Mr. Soriero was an outdoorsman who loved nature, especially in his Pennsylvania home. He traveled worldwide during his later years and, reading extensively, had knowledge of history, economics, science and the environment.
He was active in many organizations and a contributor to others.
He is survived by his wife, Anne, of Solebury; his children, Julia Soriero of Colorado Springs, Colo., Patrice Soriero Stambovsky and her husband, Jeff, of Upper Nyack, N.Y., Frank Joseph Soriero III of Alburtis Pa., James Soriero of New York City, and Mary Alice Soriero de Martinez and her husband, Juan Pablo, of Seville, Spain; a sister, Marie Wells, and her husband, Dwight, of Woodbury, N.J.; and three grandchildren, Ezekiel Stambovsky, Noah Stambovsky and Eva Soriero de Martinez.
A memorial service was held Sunday at the Leaver-Cable Funeral Home, Buckingham.

HAMILTON Ronald Paul "Bonzo" Morency Sr., 60, died Sunday, Sept. 8, at home.
Born in New York City, he lived in Trenton 50 years and Hamilton five years.
He graduated from Trenton Central High School and served with the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as a sergeant with the National Guard in Lawrence.
Mr. Morency worked with Acme-Hamilton Manufacturing Co.
He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus of Trenton and Trenton Polish American Democratic Club.
Son of the late Emil A. Morency, he is survived by his mother, Lucille Morency of Ewing; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Jr. and Micara Morency of Lawrenceville and Tony and Sherry Morency of Hamilton Square; a brother, Emil A. Jr. of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Kristina, Ronald P. III, Heather, Anthony, Nicholas, Vincent and Tony Morency; a niece, Erica; his former wife, Helena Morency O’Donnell of New Hope; and other relatives.
The funeral was held Friday, Sept. 13, from Saul Colonial Home, Hamilton Square. A funeral mass was celebrated at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Trenton. Cremation followed at Greenwood Crematory.
LONG BEACH Harry D. Blair Jr., 73, died Thursday, Sept. 12, at home.
Born in Abington, Pa., he lived in Lambertville most of his life and in Beach Haven Gardens nine years.
He graduated from Lambertville High School and received its Distinguished Alumni Award.
Mr. Blair owned C.A. Niece Lumber Co., Lambertville, retiring in 1994 after 30 years.
He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Brant Beach, where he volunteered with the food pantry and received the Francis Award in February.
Mr. Blair had been assistant chief of Union Fire Company, chief of the Lambertville Fire Department from 1978 to 1981 and founder of the Board of Fire Commissioners. He held many offices in the department.
He was a past president of the Lambertville Area Chamber of Commerce and received the 1988 Golden Award from the Hunterdon Chamber of Commerce, Flemington.
He was a trustee for Phillips-Barber Family Health Center, Lambertville, a member and former officer of the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum, Delaware Township, and a former trustee of the Amos Smith Fuel Fund for the needy in Lambertville. He was a former member of the South Hunterdon Regional High School Board of Education, the executive committee of Eastern Building Material Dealers Association and former chairman of its Education Committee.
Son of the late Harry D. Blair Sr. and Mary Shore and grandfather of the late Denise Lugar, he is survived by his wife, Rose Barnhart Blair; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Pat and Kirk Lugar of Munroe Falls, Ohio, Jeanne Blair of New Hope; Karen and Bruce Currie of Lambertville, Debbie and Dennis Barba of Lincoln University, Pa., and Kathleen and Phil Delorme of Mercerville; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Valerie Blair of Lambertville; a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Mary Ann Blair of Wilsonville, Ore.; a sister, Penny Sandor of New Hope; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A memorial mass was held Monday at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Beach Haven. A memorial gathering was held Tuesday at the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad, Lambertville, with a fireman’s service at 7:30 p.m.

Blanche Strenk, 75, died Friday, Sept. 13, at home.
She lived most of her life in Philadelphia and lived in Doylestown for the past three years,
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Susan and Herbert Sandor of Solebury, Jenifer Strenk of Haverhill, Mass., and Linda and Jeffrey Newsum of Ambler; and two sisters, Charlotte Ducey of Englewood, Fla., and Helen Borowski of Riverside, N.J.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at Solebury Friends Meeting Cemetery, Solebury.
