Open house
Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5 Bordentown Library’s temporary move to the Fieldsboro Town Hall will be celebrated with a two-day open house at 18 Washington Street in Fieldsboro, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Saturday, a special children’s program featuring folk-singer Daria Marmaluk-Hajioannoi will be held at 1:30 seating is limited. Light refreshments will be served on Saturday after the program and a balloon sculptor will make balloon animals. For information call the library at 298-0622.
The Fieldsboro location will maintain the usual Library hours: Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Book Sale
Through April 6 Holy Assumption School is once again holding an open house/book sale in the library under the church. The library will also be open to the public on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 3 to 3:30 p.m.
Clay exhibit
Saturday, April 5 A juried exhibition of three-dimensional ceramic artworks created by high school students in the South Jersey region from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Northern Burlington County Regional High School, 160 Mansfield Road East, Columbus. The exhibition is held in collaboration with the internationally renowned Philadelphia gallery, The Clay Studio.

Market bus trip
Saturday, April 5 Shiloh Baptist Church is sponsoring a bus trip to Patapsco Flea Market in Baltimore, Md. Bus will leave 8 a.m. from the church located on Elizabeth Street, Bordentown. Donation: $25. For information contact the church at 298-0574 no later than April 1.
Casino trip
Sunday, April 6 The Knights of Columbus 570 is sponsoring a bus trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Bus will leave St. Mary’s Church parking lot at 4:30 p.m. for a four-hour stay at the casino. Cost is $15 per person with $13 back from the casino. For reservations call Bob at 298-5530.
Monthly social
Sunday, April 6 – The Widow and Widowers of Burlington County will hold their monthly social at Holy Assumption Church McGrath Hall located on Hornberger Avenue in Roebling, from 7:30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. Dancing of all types to the music of Sal "The Merry Maker." Refreshments included in the admission price of $4 for members and $5 for guests. This is open to widows and widowers only.
Mission
A mission will be held at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling on Monday, April 7 through Thursday, April 10. Presented by Father Peter Chepaitis, OFM and Sister Anna Tantsits, IHM of Bethany Ministries, it promises to be an exciting and enlightening experience. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Mass will be at 8:30 a.m. with the Mission Service at 7 p.m. At the mission service on Tuesday, a Reconciliation Service will also be held. Concluding the Mission, will be a Mass at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 10. Everyone is invited to attend. For information call the rectory at 499-0161.
Blood drive
Tuesday, April 8 The American Red Cross will be running a blood drive in the Ballroom Clubhouse in Homestead at Mansfield, 120 Homestead Drive, Columbus from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please bring some form of identification. Easter play
"Voices Echo Around the Tomb" is an outdoor original Easter production. Visitors will mingle with Bible characters as they walk through 10 panoramic biblical scenes. Experience the Easter story come to life right before your eyes. Sponsored by the Columbus Baptist Church, this production will take place on April 11, 12 and 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. For information and directions call 298-6226.
Stuffed cabbage sale

Meet and greet
Saturday, April 12 Members of Columbus Grange #58 of Mansfield Township have planned a "Get to Know Us" day at the Columbus Grange Hall in Columbus, from noon to 4 p.m. This free event is for all residents of Mansfield Township, especially those in the new homes, to get to know about the many businesses, organizations and services available to them in their community. In addition, tours of historic Mansfield will be offered. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the afternoon and there will be children’s games and a food court available. A free directory of Mansfield businesses, organizations and services will be distributed to adult residents.
Candy hunt
Kidz with a Mission, the children’s ministry of Columbus Baptist Church is sponsoring a giant candy hunt on Saturday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at the church grounds on West Main Street in Columbus. Over 10,000 pieces of candy will be hidden and there will be drawings for grand prizes, including bicycles, a color TV with VCR and $200 in cash. The hunt is open to children ages 3 to 12.
Registration
The New Hanover Township School in Wrightstown will have it’s Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten registration on Wednesday, April 16 and Thursday, April 17. Children for pre-kindergarten must be four on or before September 30, and children for kindergarten must be five on or before September 30. Parents must call the school, at 723-2139, to make an appointment to register their children. Children must be present for registration. Birth certificates, immunization records and social security numbers must be brought to registration, along with proof of residency.
Monastery services
Services during the Sacred Triduum preceding Easter Sunday will be conducted at the Monastery of St. Clare, 150 White Pine Road, Chesterfield, as follows:

April 18, Good Friday at 3 p.m.
April 19, Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil) at 7:30 p.m.

Florence Garden Club
The April meeting of the Florence Garden Club will be combined with the Florence Historical Society to be held at Rocco’s Restaurant in Florence on Monday, April 21, at 6:30 p.m. This will be a testimonial dinner honoring active member, Robert Panaro. T’ai Chi Chih
The Chesterfield Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary is sponsoring a basic T’ai Chi Chih course in two segments at the Chesterfield Firehouse on Route 528. No special clothing or equipment needed. The class is taught by Viktoria Vercelletto, an accredited T’ai Chi Chih and Seijaku instructor.
Course A consists of four classes every Wednesday, April 2 to 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Cost $36.
Course B consists of three classes every Wednesday, April 30, May 7 and 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Cost $27. Prerequisite: some experience in T’ai Chi Chih.
