Cantu climbs ladder of League of Municipalities

PLAINSBORO — Mayor Peter Cantu has moved up a notch at the New Jersey State League of Municipalities.
On Nov. 21, Mayor Cantu was elected first vice president. Last year he served as second vice president.
"Mayor Cantu is a very dynamic leader," said William Dressel Jr., executive director of the League of Municipalities. "His interest in municipal government, concern about sprawl and leadership in planning and transportation issues make him a natural choice."
As first vice president, the mayor will represent the interests and needs of New Jersey’s 566 municipalities to county, state and federal governments, set the league’s agenda for the upcoming year and be the first line of communication for mayors and other governmental leaders, Mr. Dressel said.
