Vincent V. Biondo, 81, died Monday, Dec. 8, at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Mr. Biondo was born in Sicily and immigrated to the United States in 1928. He lived most of his life in New Brunswick and North Brunswick before moving to Monroe in 2000. He served in the Army in World War II.
Mr. Biondo worked as an auto mechanic for DeAngelis Buick in New Brunswick for more than 25 years. He was employed by the Township of North Brunswick as a civil servant. He was a member of East Brunswick Elks Lodge 2370, the North Brunswick Loyal Order of Moose and VFW Post 2319 in Milltown. He enjoyed golfing, card playing, reading, and was a fan of the New York Giants.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Grace Biondo of South Brunswick; a daughter and son-in law, Deborah M. and Wayne Trohalides of Belle Mead; three brothers, Biagio Biondo and his wife, Ann, of Milltown, Angelo Biondo and his wife Marie of Milltown and Joseph Biondo and his wife, Joan, of Seaside Park; three sisters, Rose Jennetty of Perth Amboy, Antoinette Munro and her husband, Donald, of Cantonment, Fla., and Pauline Biondo of Milltown; and four grandchildren, Vincent Jr., Joseph and Maria Biondo, all of South Brunswick, and Nicholas Trohalides of Belle Mead.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today (Friday), Dec. 12, at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. Burial will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Contributions may be made to Operation Uplink, VFW National Headquarters, 406 W. 34th St., Kansas City, Mo. 64111.
