Many helped

at Thanksgiving
To the editor:
I take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers, organizations and churches that made the Delaware Valley Council of Churches 2003 community Thanksgiving dinner such a great success.
It would be impossible to mention every volunteer by name, but may I salute a few of the many dedicated people and groups that make this great event possible. First may I thank Father Leon Kasprzyk, pastor, Father Louis Mattina, Deacon Joseph Masterson and the parish family of St. John the Evangelist Church for hosting the dinner in their parish hall and their generous sharing of the parish facilities. Both the fathers and the deacon assisted on Thanksgiving Day, welcoming one and all.
Many thanks for the special support of the clergy and members of the Centenary United Methodist Church and their pastor, the Rev. Judy Gehring, the New Hope Community Church and their pastor, the Rev. Chuck Wilson, the United Methodist Church of Titusville, Solebury Friends Meeting, St. Phillip’s Chapel, the Old Rocks Church of West Amwell and their pastor, the Rev. David Errickson, and the Solebury United Methodist Church and their pastor, the Rev. Jim Todd.

Put motto

on all mail
To the editor:
You probably know about the couple of post offices in Texas that were forced to take down small posters that say, "In God We Trust."
The excuse was that the laws say the posters were violating something silly about electioneering posters. Is God running for office?
It was suggested by a local radio station that we all write "In God We Trust" on the back of all our mail. After all, it is our motto. It’s on all the money we use to buy those stamps.
Wonderful ideal Simply write "In God We Trust" on the back of all your outgoing mail.
Let’s take our nation back from those who think that anything that offends them should be removed.
If you like the idea, then do it. Let your friends know they can do it, too.
   God bless you.
