HILLSBOROUGH Luis Villalta died March 3 in Florida from injuries sustained in a boxing match. He was 34.
Born in Lima, Peru, he lived in Hillsborough for the past three years.
Mr. Villalta was a professional boxer and also worked for the McDonald’s in Hillsborough when not training.
Surviving are his wife, Maribel; two children, Luis Anthony and Clara; his father, Alberto; one brother, Cezar; and one sister, Patricia, all of Lima.
Funeral services were held March 9 from Hillsborough Funeral Home, Hillsborough, followed by a Mass at Mary, Mother of God Church in Hillsborough. Cremation was private.
