MEMORIAL DAY PARADES WINNERS

Hopewell and Pennington held parades Sunday, Monday.

   Hopewell and Pennington residents were treated to Memorial Day parades on Sunday and Monday respectively.
   Winners of the various awards are as follows:
   On Sunday, according to Joseph Kianka, parade chairman, Hopewell Valley American Legion Post 339 and Hopewell Fire Department — the parade sponsors — awarded the following:
   Best Float Senior Group — Hopewell Harvest Fair;
   Best Float Junior Group — Brownie Troop 41;
   Best Marching Group, Senior Group — 15th N.J. Volunteer Infantry;
   Best Marching Group, Junior Group — New Millennium Drill Team;
   First Place Color Guard — Hopewell Township Police Color Guard;
   Best Appearing Tractor — 1954 Allis Chalmers, Gary Underwood;
   Best Appearing Automobile — 1927 Buick, Ernie Nemeth;
   Best Appearing Ambulance — Amwell Valley Fire Department;
   Best Appearing Rescue — Pennington First Aid Squad;
   Best Appearing Aerial — Montgomery 2 Fire Department;
   Best Appearing Tanker — Union Fire Company;
   Best Appearing Fire Department — Montgomery 2 Fire Department.

   Senior Marching Unit — first, Pennington Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary; second, Hopewell Valley American Legion Post 339 Color Guard.
   Junior Marching Unit — first, Brownie Troop 1843; second, Girl Scout Troop 648.
   Group Floats — first, Pennington Business and Professional Association with Blawenburg Band; second, Pennington Presbyterian Nursery School.
   Music — first, Hopewell Valley Central High School band; second, The Newt Stewart Band.
   Judges Choice — Valley Veterans Group under the direction of Sevy DiCocco.
   Service Equipment: Best in Show — first, Hopewell Fire and Rescue Antique Pumper; second, Pennington Fire Deputy Chief Stewart Schwab.

   Best Decorated — first, Union Fire and Rescue Tanker Truck; second, Pennington First Aid.

   Best Two-wheeler Costume — first, Laura Rodriguez; second, Avery Bell.
   Best Decorated Wagon — Sammy Hoops.
   Best Decorated Stroller or Baby Buggy — first, Chase Avery; second, Caroline and David Phillips.
   Best Decorated Three-wheeler — first, Fina Foster; second, Bobby Dorsett.
   Best Decorated Two-wheeler — first, Virginia Cummings; second, Madison Blouth.
